EAdirectory is now live in Kenya. Over the next 12 months we’ll roll out across the rest of the East African Community.

Why a directory in 2026?

Searching for a reliable lawyer, mechanic, hospital or restaurant in East Africa is still harder than it should be. Reviews are gamed. Fake listings clog up search results. Contact details go stale within months.

EAdirectory exists because none of the existing directories actually verify. They scrape, they spam, they auto-import — and the user pays the price.

What “verified” means here

A green Verified badge on EAdirectory means:

  • We phone-called the listed number and a real person at the business answered.
  • We confirmed the address against Google Maps.
  • We confirmed either a working website or a verified Google Business Profile.
  • The verifier’s name and date are kept on file for audit.

If any of those three checks fail, the listing doesn’t go live.

What’s next

Kenya rolls out across all 47 counties at launch, with sub-county granularity in Nairobi, Kiambu and Mombasa. Uganda and Tanzania join in Phase 2, Rwanda and Burundi in Phase 3, South Sudan, DR Congo and Somalia in Phase 4.
